Ever since the 1980s, when baby boomers started gaining prominence in the worlds of film and television, they have been memorializing their "turbulent" era, and "progressive" generation. Unfortunately, these big budget features, and multi-part documentaries end long before they gained power in Washington, and helped undermine the governmental policies of their parents, and grandparents, which had sought to promote social, and economic equality.

THE BEEF FACTOR, MEAT AND GAY CULTURE

For some reason burger joints proliferate in California's major gay districts, which include the Castro (San Francisco), West Hollywood, and HIllcrest (San Diego). In West Hollywood alone there are six burger places on a two and a half mile stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard, an unusual amount even by Southern California standards.

NO TURNING

The No Turning sign regulates traffic in an effort to prevent accidents and ease congestion. The No Turns sign is a quality of life measure that regulates cruising (the "homosexual" practice of searching for casual sexual encounters in public places) by literally forcing all motorists to go "straight."
